Who: Long Live GoGo Foundation and The DC Against Trump Coalition (DCAT), a DMV-wide coalition of organizations including the DC Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (DCAARPR), Freedom Road Socialist Organization DC (FRSO), Anakbayan DC (ABDC), International League of People Struggles Baltimore-DMV (ILPS), and Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
What: Long Live GoGo and DCAT will be hosting a march from 14th and U st to the National Monument’s Sylvan Theater.
Where: 4pm at 14th and U St, Washington DC and 5:30pm National Monument, National Sylvan Theater.
When: Saturday, August 30, 2025, 4pm EST.
Why: DCAT and Long Live GoGo have joined forces in response to the Trump administration’s racist police and military takeover of Washington DC and targeting of Black people and immigrants.
GoGo has long been a cultural form of political resistance in DC, and it is needed in that capacity now more than ever. DCAT’s protest against the 14th and U curfew zone last week showed that the people of DC want to stand up against Trump’s racist agenda here. This March and GoGo will bring together two powerful streams of collective resistance into one united action.
“GoGo is a weapon that generations of Black Washingtonians have fashioned just for this moment,” says Merawi Gerima, organizer with DCAARPR, “now is the time to use it to strike down Trump’s racist occupation of our city.”
